DVD Rentals via Netflix and Walmart

This claim, filed under Section 1 of the Sherman Act, 15 U.S.C. §  1 and proceeding before Judge Phyllis Hamilton in the United States District Court, Northern District of California, concerns allegations of a conspiracy to divide the market between Netflix and Wal-mart, whereby Netflix obtained and maintained monopoly power in the online DVD rental business.  As a result of this activity, the plaintiffs allege that they paid artificially higher prices for DVD rentals than absent the conspiracy, sums they seek to recover through this lawsuit.

On March 14, 2012, the Court approved a settlement for $27.5m with Wal-Mart.  Notices of this settlement and claim forms have been distributed to members of the settlement the class.  More details and claim forms can be found at www.OnlineDVDclass.com.
